As already announced in the May newsletter, this month's newsletter is all about "holistic wellness". Even if this term sounds like a hashtag, holistic wellness is not just another trend that promotes bath additives, smoothies and the like. Rather, the holistic approach helps us to become healthier and happier. The focus is on the individual and their needs and not just a single ailment. In order to stay healthy or become healthy, it is therefore necessary to consider not only physical complaints, but also emotional, mental and social aspects.
Would you like to learn more about a small part of the holistic health path with essential oils? Then look forward to the 6-part blog series on "holistic wellness" in May.

In the first article we will inform you about the following topics, associated oils, oil blends and their possible applications:

Relaxation - The Relax Trio
Vetiver (Vetiveria zizanioides) - Base note
Vetiver, a member of the grass family, has a complex root system that grows deep down, unlike other grasses. This makes it ideal for counteracting erosion and stabilizing the soil. It is therefore not surprising that this oil, with its strong, exotic and complex aroma, is often used in perfumes and is an ideal oil for massage therapy due to its calming and grounding effect.
The viscous, dark oil with its earthy scent can also stabilize our connective tissue and stabilize emotional rollercoaster rides, especially when inner chatter no longer allows us to rest.
Possible applications
Fill the bathtub with warm water and add a few drops of vetiver oil mixed with honey and jojoba oil to help you relax.
Apply the essential oil to the soles of your feet before going to bed to enjoy a restful atmosphere – a few drops mixed with a carrier oil are enough for this.
After a day spent standing, this oil is perfect for use in a soothing massage.
Blended with lavender, dōTERRA Serenity or dōTERRA Balance, vetiver is ideal for promoting a sense of calm and an emotionally balancing effect.
Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) - Heart notes
With its distinctive aroma and countless uses, lavender has become one of the most popular essential oils. The Romans and Egyptians used the plant for bathing, and since then many have discovered the countless other benefits of lavender. Today, it is often used in cosmetics and perfumes because it can reduce the appearance of blemishes and soothe skin irritations.
In addition, its calming properties are often used to relax the body and lift the mood. Its many benefits make lavender an oil that should always be at hand, as there is hardly any ailment or disease that lavender does not help or at least alleviate. It is therefore no wonder that this oil is also known as the "Swiss army knife of essential oils".
Possible applications
Diffuse the essential oil for a peaceful environment before going to bed.
Apply the essential oil to the soles of your feet before going to bed to promote feelings of calm and relaxation – a few drops mixed with a carrier oil are enough for this.
Apply a drop to the skin to relieve occasional skin irritation – lavender can also be applied undiluted for occasional use.
Add a few drops mixed with honey and jojoba oil to your bath water and forget your worries – the essential oil can also be applied to the temples and neck.

Juniper Berry (Juniperus communis) - heart note
The essential oil of juniper berries, which is obtained from a coniferous tree (both from the fruits and from the branches), has a long history of traditional uses and benefits. With its woody, spicy yet fresh aroma, this oil has a calming, grounding effect and helps to counteract mental and physical distraction.
In the kitchen, juniper berry oil goes well with French-inspired sauces and desserts and adds a completely unexpected flavor to a variety of dishes. It is therefore a tasty addition to a variety of foods. It also makes a great addition to a cocktail such as a classic gin and tonic. When taken internally, it is considered to aid digestion and can support the intestines, especially after eating heavy meals. Juniper oil also acts as a natural facial toner and can reduce the appearance of blemishes.
Possible applications
Why not try combining juniper berries with bergamot – these two oils go well together, as bergamot also has a beneficial effect.
Apply 1 drop to the skin to promote a clear, healthy complexion.
Further details and possible applications will be listed separately in a separate post.
